sample card. VG. $45

OCAB17. The Long Mercantile Photo Co., NYC. "Patterson & Farr Express to
Hoboken, Jersey City, West Hoboken Union Hill, Weehawken, Guttengerg &c." Card
has been trimmed. VG. $85

OCAB18. Metropolitan View Co., NYC. Stripped poles out in front of this
establishment. G. $35



OCAB19. Extraordinary lot of 7 Cabinet Cards of Sign Painters Storefronts in
New York City. Six of the cards show establishments of "Wm. Heyny Jr." at
various locations and one card shows the establishment of "John Vosteen, House &
Sign Painter." The sign painter himself and his assistants are shown in all
images. Of course, there are many additional signs and paintings in the views.
All of the Heyny views show Heyny with his palette and brush, sometimes in the
midst of a painting. Heyny's cart is also shown in 5 of the images and there is
a sign mounted on each side of the wheels in the shape of an artist's palette
with Heyny's name on it. The cards are by various photographers: NY
Photographing Co, Corliss & Bancroft, No. 6 City Hall Place, NY (2 different
cards); The Cosmopolitan View Co., No. 429 Eighth Avenue, NY; Bessunger Bros.,
View Photographers, 141 West 29th Street, New York; G.W. Heppner, Out-Door
Photographer, No. 669 Eighth Ave., New York; & 2 without photographer's ID. The
locations of several of the cards are identified: 176 Allen St.; 480 Broome St.;
6th St. Others have readable addresses but no street indicated. One is dated on
back "July 12th, 1883," another "Sept. 24, 1881," and a third on bottom recto
"Dec. 1879." A great and rare collection relating to this desirable occupation.

Fredonia, NY. On back is written "Mary Johnson Totman." Artistic image of a maid
washing dishes in a basin. VG. $75

OPC1. Looks like these fellows are paper hangers and/or painters. Unused,
divided pack real photo postcard. VG. $10

OCDV12. A.S. Gilson, Seville, Ohio. Appears to be a CDV of a man smoking
opium. Certainly could turn into an occupation. VG. $250

OCDV13. Davidson, Portland, Oregon. View from Real Life in the Coast Range
Mountains, Oregon. Hunting Camp of D.K. Hickok, of Vermont. "Returning to Camp
Well Crowned." Copyright 1880 by D.K. Hickok. VG. $225

OCAB28. No ID. Julius & Leo opened first men's store. The two brothers are
sharing a giant pair of pants on which is written Haas Bros. Great advertising
Cabinet Card. G. $150

OCAB29. No ID. On back is written "W.T.I. Faculty 1883." Great composite of
professors with real photo heads. Cabinet Card. VG. $125.

OCAB30. Ellis, Celina, Ohio. Looks like these gents with cigars shaking
hands have just closed a business deal. VG. $50

OCAB31. E.W. Cook, Artist, Albany, NY. Cabinet Card showing 6 men standing
in front of doorway over which hangs a sign reading "Popular Family Resort for
Ladies and Children." One of the men is black and barefoot. There are numbers at
the bottom of the card and each person is identified on verso: "1. Pete Daily.
2. Hank Alfred. 3. Fresh Kid. 4. Slim Jim. 5. Fred Puffer. 6. Eph. Green." The
signs at the top of the image read "Providence Museum," "10 cents Admits to
All." The men at the left stand before large broadsides for the "Old Dime
Museum, Week of July 19, Uncle Tom's Cabin," etc. VG. $200

OCDV14. No ID. Well-dressed gentleman, cradling in his arms an unidentified
piece of equipment. In raised lettering on the item is "V.W. Mason, Prov. R.I."
and "Pat'd Apr. 4, 1876." Could be a lens board. VG. $125

OCAB33. Keagey. This Cabinet Card appears to show a pair of lawyers or
possibly a pair of realtors. They are seated at a table drawing up some papers,
making reference to a book. They have papers in their pocket and I just can't
make out the words on the papers in the pocket of the man on the right. VG. $60

OCAB34. No ID. Advertising Cabinet Card for Williams Organ and Piano Co.,
Centerville, Ia., or Chicago, Ill. Order from Nearest Point. Pictured is New
Style 602 'Special' Epworth Parlor Organ. Height 76 in. Length 49 in. Width 21
in. Walnut Case, Paneled Ends and Front, Large Secret Music Closet, Engraved
Hinged Music Desk, 14 Stops and Swells, Quick Action, Steel Octave Couplers,
Fancy Beveled Stops, Easy Pedals. 'Made on honor' inside and out. E. $150

OCAB35. J. W. Sires, S. Oil City, Pa. Great Hosey storefront with books,
fishing rods, Indian Clubs, bonecrusher and high wheel bikes, prints, etc. VG.

OCAB37. Barrows, Sturgis, Mich. This advertising Cabinet Card has the
following manuscript on verso: "In Merchant's Carnival. E. Julia E. Fox 1892.
Uncle Harrison's daughter Lula Young." There are 5-dollar Garfield notes all
over the young lady's outfit and she carries a sign the for "The National Bank."

OCAB38. Grand Central Gallery, Omaha, Neb. Great Occupational Cabinet Card.
Man's valise reads "L.P. Pruyn Travling Agt. for Omaha Oil House." The barrel
reads "Perfectly Safe Family Oil Cannot be Exploded. R.C. Steell's Crystolene.
Manufactured Expressly for The Omaha Oil House." Pruyn used this photo card as
his New Year's Card. The back reads "Office of Omaha Oil House, Omaha, Neb.,
Dec. 30, 1880. Gentlemen: Allow me to present my New Years Card, and with it the
thanks of the Omaha Oil House for past favors, and also my own for courtesies
shown me. I will call on you during the ensuing year in the interests of this
house and will endeavor to make all our business transactions mutually
beneficial. Again thanking you for past favors, and extending the compliments of
the season, I remain, Yours truly, L.P. Pruyn." VG. $250

OCDV15. Wm. L. Teush, Boonton, N.J. Interesting occupational CDV of a man
with a hammer which rests on a curved, sprocketed invention leaning on a
headrest. Don't know what it is. At bottom of carte is written "Thomas hide."
Mark on back indicates that at one time there was a revenue stamp on this CDV.
