Lynn Skeels.  This is a rare privately produced Stereoview.  It is one of a number of views taken by Lynn Skeels from his Annual Baseball Outing sets that he produced for private distribution.  Lynn Skeels was a renowned Photographer who produced many of the Stereo-Travel Boxed Sets in the first several decades of this century. He was in his sixties or seventies when he produced this view in the mid-to-late 1940's. Here is the story behind the production of this view: This view is part of the documentation of the activities
of the "Lowell B. Mason Baseball, Marching and Luncheon Club." Lowell Mason, the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission hosted annual luncheon gatherings in one of the US Senate's private dining rooms for President Truman, who was his close friend, and many invited Senators, Cabinet Members, Supreme Court Justices, etc. They would dine and place bets on the blackboard regarding the outcome of the opening game. After lunch they all went to the Washington home opener at Griffith Stadium as the guests of Clark Griffith,
the owner of the Senators. The President would throw out the first ball, players would come up for his autograph, and a great time was had by all. Ball game in action, Senators in the field, batter in mid-swing. E. $250
