Small newspaper clipping attached on verso of card: "Stanwix Hall is the name of one of Albany's oldest hotels. It is located at the northeast corner of Broadway and Malden Lane and is under the management of Eugene E. McCandliss. It is an institution of the city, as it were, and is as familiar to state legislators and politicians as the capitol. Many a political course has been determined on within its walls. It continues to be a favorite stopping place for members of the legislature and all through the winter many of them are to be found chatting in its spacious corridors. Stanwix Hall is six stories high and has a frontage on Broadway of sixty feet and a depth on Malden lane of one hundred and twenty-five feet, running through the block from Broadway." VG. $45

NYS192. No ID. Pencilled title on verso "D.M. Osborne & Co's Reaper Factory, all kinds of Reaping & Mowing Machines." This company was located in Auburn, NY and was one of the nation's largest makers of agricultural implements. In 1903, the family sold the company to the International Harvester Trust. At that time the president of the company was Thomas Mott Osborne (1859-1926) who was a major prison and political reformer. VG. $35
