PPTT8. Sixth-plate Tintype of two interesting looking characters. Man on
left has his hand on a knife on his belt. Man on the right is wearing a beret,
has a pipe in his mouth, some kind of bag hanging off his side, a pistol in his
left hand. A hobo-type sack with branch sits on the pedestal between them.
Housed in a full, split leather case. VG. $300

PPTT13. Tintype measuring 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of a woman on a prop horse in a
studio. For your "silly horse" collection. VG. $75

PPTT14. Two men, look like they are related, one seated on swing. Base of
both head clamps are visible. Nice backdrop. One man has a cigar in his hand.
Definitely odd. 4" x 2 1/2." VG. $40

PPTT17. Sixth-plate tintype of a man wearing a skull cap, reading the
newspaper, with a beer by his side on the table near a flower display. He is
wearing a checkerboard vest and striped pants. Housed in a full leather case.

PPTT22. Darnell, Cumberland, Md. Tintype measuring 3 1/4" x 2 1/8" of a
young man holding a pistol. The back of this paper mat is a listing of
photographic books and manuals. VG. $75

PPTT23. Tintype measuring 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of two men. The man on
the right wears a tunic, a garment worn by Roman men from the second century BC
onward. The man on the left wears a long crimson robe indicative of high
nobility. The tights are a standard costume accessory for 19th century
thespians, worn even in period roles for which tights would be historically
inappropriate, probably to meet the standards of Victorian modesty. VG. $25

PPTT27. Tintype, 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of figure in donkey cart. Few wrinkles.

PPTT29. Tintype, 5" x 3 1/2" of two jauntily dressed men posed in studio
with canoe and rustic backdrop. One man rests his arm on the other's shoulder.
Housed in decorative paper mat. On back is written "Mr. Buckingham, Mr. Lenny
(?)." VG. $200


PPTT31. Pair of cased wedding tintypes, a bride and groom. Images are 3 3/4"
x 2 1/2." A truly beautiful pair, great tinting. The woman looks extraordinarily
contemporary. Both image with mats and glass, housed in a full leather case,
repaired at spine. VG. $300

PPTT32. Tintype, 3.5" x 2.5," of 3 women, one with a toy wagon. VG. $25

PPTT39. Tintype, 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of 4 tough guys, gun, whip, western hats,
cigars. Photographer's head clamp on right. These are the real fellows, not
dress-up. G. $175

Tintype, 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of a political gentleman holding a map reading at
top "Town of Bristol" and a sign for Representative Hayes. G. $150

PPTT41. Tintype, 4" x 2 1/2" in paper mat of a western looking gentleman
holding a hatchet. VG. $60



PPTT43. Ninth-plate tintype of a man wearing a ribbon. There is a portion of
a black ribbon behind the image. One can only assume it is the same ribbon that
he is wearing. Since the ribbon is black my guess is that he is wearing an
armband as well as the ribbon his chest but I can't see it as the image is
somewhat dark. Housed in a full leather case repaired at spine. VG. $50

PPTT44. Tintype, 3 1/4" x 2 3/8" of two men with firearms, looks like a
rifle and a double-barreled shotgun. G. $75

PPTT47. Beautiful, Quarter-plate Tintype, matted and cased, of an older
woman in hoop dress posed before a painted mountain/lake background. There are
two gem size tintypes of her as well held in the lower corners of the preserver
over the glass. The image has an envelope behind it with the original seal which
was in place at some time. The image has been resealed by the previous owner
with notes made regarding the plate imprint: "Dean & Emerson Patent Applied For,
Worcester Mass. No. 26." Housed in an excellent full leather case. E. $275

two serious looking young gentlemen. G. $35
